Eating Balot Mangiare Balot

Before even starting I know whats already on your mind… What the hell is Balut most of you would ask? Prima ancora di partire so whats già sulla tua mente ... Che diavolo è Balut la maggior parte di voi chiedo? In fact it's simply a fertilized duck egg with an almost fully matured embryo inside that's served boiled alive and eaten in its shell. In realtà è semplicemente un uovo di anatra fertilizzato con un quasi completamente maturato all'interno embrione che servito bollito vivo e mangiato nel suo guscio. They are considered delicacies in South East Asia and particularly the Philippines, Vietnam & Cambodia. Now for an intro to the story… After a long & strenuous previous night out partying that started at the All-you-can-drink Conway's bar of the luxurious Shangri-la Hotel in Makati & eventually ending in the Ermita Cowboy Grill somewhere estimated around 6:30 AM. But as the barbecue went on well into the evening and as our fourth case of San Miguel was under way a new sense of strength embodied us. Eventually the persistent hangover was but a distant memory and everyone's systems were fully operational again. After a few explanations from a local on the techniques of eating balut and what I was going to endure I figured adding as much salt as possible would be a good idea. Dopo un paio di spiegazioni da un locale sulle tecniche di balut mangiare e cosa stavo per sopportare I figured aggiungendo sale come il più possibile sarebbe una buona idea.

Oh well time to dig in and savor the delicious flavor… Oh bene il tempo di scavare e gustare i deliziosi sapori ...

At this point my body told me something wasn't right with ingesting this food & I started heaving and gagging a bit.. A questo punto il mio corpo, mi ha detto qualcosa di destra non è stato con l'assunzione di questo alimento e ho iniziato a heaving bavaglio e un po '..

Glad to the virtues of San Miguel I was able to chug down those nasty pieces I could feel refusing entry. Glad to le virtù di San Miguel, ho potuto chug giù quelle brutte pezzi ho potuto sentirsi rifiutare l'ingresso.

Ok… From a quick peek of what's gonna have to be swallowed this is far from a won battle. Ok ... Da una rapida occhiata di ciò che's gonna devono essere ingerite questo è ben lungi da una battaglia vinta. Salt it up more please! Il sale è più prego!

And for the hard part.. E per la parte dura .. To swallow the damn thing. Di inghiottire il damn thing.
