One of the most stunning destinations of Thailand
Located just a few kilometers from the Thai/Malayian border and due to it’s harder to each location, Koh Lipe has managed to steer clear from most of the limelight taken by other parts of the southern Thailand such as Phuket, Krabi or Koh Phi Phi. Blessed by beautiful powdery white-sand beaches bordered by lush green jungles and surrounded by protected coral reef, the small tropical island of Koh Lipe is one of my favorite beach destinations of Thailand.

Arriving at Mountain Resort
Located up a cliff overlooking the most sought after beach of Koh Lipe, the beautiful Mountain resort is a great option for those looking for peaceful and private place to stay away from the crowds with direct access to the beach. Grounds are huge and well-manicured, accommodations which are made up of wooden bungalows are basic and forgettable but the views they offer are simply stunning and the simply the best you will find on the island.

Few sunbeds and bungalows of Mountain Resort are available right on the beach
Sunrise Beach
Without doubts the most beautiful beach of the island and the only place where you can experience the amazing sunrise.
Beautiful long stretch of sand of Sunrise beach
Vanrin Village bungalows are a tad run down but offer some of the cheapest beachfront options on Sunrise beach
Varin Village lovely beachfront location
Koh Kra island can be walked to at low tide from Sunrise beach
Those looking for a little more barefoot luxury should go with the bungalows at Castaway Resort on Sunrise beach

Pattaya Beach
The island’s main beach and drop-off point when arriving by ferry, best place to base yourself to be near the nightlife

You know you’ve reached the end of the line on your Thai island hopping trip when you reach the immigration check point, also found on Pattaya Beach. Good place to extend your visa if you don’t want to leave 😉
